Terry Fox on the road during his Marathon of Hope

“I bet some of you feel sorry for me. Well don’t. Having an artificial leg has its advantages. I’ve broken my right knee many times and it doesn’t hurt a bit.”

- Terry Fox, whose incredible 5,376-km Marathon of Hope remains an inspiration to millions around the world.
Terry died of bone cancer in 1981 at age 22.
